What is a meet and greet appointment? Who needs a meet and greet?
A meet and greet appointment is a free 15-30 minute consultation appointment where I come to your home to meet you and your pet. All new potential clients need to have a meet and greet so that we can determine if I am the right fit for your pet. We talk about your expectations for your pet’s care, your pet’s daily routine, and what you can expect from me. If I am happy with the meeting, I will explain the new client onboarding process and move forward with booking your pet’s care.

Does scheduling a meet and greet assure a booking?
No. A meet and greet is to get to know you and your pet, the type of care you are looking for, and to assess if I will be able to provide you service. I reserve the right to decline booking for any reason. Most of the time, a will decline a booking after a meet and greet if I feel your pet and I may not be well suited for each other. Turning down a job is not personal, it is for the safety of everyone involved. However, I will not consider a job without a meet and greet first.
What are your rates?
There are three main services I provide: Dog walking, drop in visits, and longer “Staycation” visits. Pricing depends on the service provided. Please note that there are additional charges for each additional animal, for holidays, and requests outside normal operating hours.
What type of pets do you care for?
I currently care for dogs up to 60 lbs, cats, and bunnies. I do not take on farm or exotic animals at this time.
Can you provide last minute care?
I do not provide services for anyone unless we have had a meet and greet appointment ahead of a service and I have approved them. I do this for both your pet’s and my own safety. While I can sometimes take on current clients requests with less notice, anything less than 3-7 days is not guaranteed and all dependant on my schedule. I always appreciate notice so that I can manage and plan my schedule accordingly.
How do I book with you?
I use a pet care software called Time to Pet. This software enables me to keep track of all my clients and their records, manage invoicing, and allows clients to request services and see my schedule. If the meet and greet goes well, and we all decide to move forward with the booking, you will need to create a profile for you and your pet(s). This can be done through your client portal. The benefits of using this software for the owner is concise invoicing, easy access to my schedule/ availability at all times, gps records of dog walks, and report cards for each service - all in one place! You can login online or have access with the Time to Pet App.
What kind of payment do you take?
I take checks, cash, venmo, credit cards, apple pay, or google pay.
When will payment be due?
I require payment in full at least two days prior to the first day of a booking. For recurring dog walks, payment will be due each Monday of the week. Bookings on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas will require a 50% deposit at the time of booking due to demand.
Do you have a camera policy?
I have worked with multiple clients who use cameras to check on their pets periodically and I am okay with them. I do require that you disclose each camera to me during the meet and greet so that I am aware of the cameras. I will not agree to work with you again should you fail to inform me of camera locations.
I’m so nervous about leaving my pet(s) with a new sitter, what can I do to feel
more comfortable?
I will do my best to keep your sweet fur baby safe and happy while you are away. I am a pet owner myself and know how scary it can be to leave them in the care of someone else. In some cases, doing shorter, trial visits may help you and your pet get a better peace of mind before longer vacations. If you were to need drop ins for 10 days, for example, I could provide a drop in while you are away at work. Please note that normal rates will apply to this. The benefits are that it might give you a better sense of my style as a sitter and how your pet(s) respond to me while you are away. This type of trial sitting does require a little bit of planning ahead.

I always provide updates and report cards on app that allow for you to know how your pet is doing while under my care. I also love taking photos and will send you photos of your pet. If I take you on as a client, you can always reach out with any questions or concerns during the stay.
How much notice do you require to book a service?
In most cases, the earlier the better! I appreciate at least 72 hours notice from current clients for a booking. Potential new clients will need to calculate the time to go through a meet and greet and new client onboarding.
What do you need from us to take care of our pet?
The most important thing is giving me all details of their care and daily routine. You will also need to provide:

Do you take nervous animals?
It really depends on the animal. As an owner of a dog with anxiety, I understand that a pet’s anxiety can manifest in many different ways towards new faces. If your pet is simply shy, that shouldn’t be a problem. I am happy to work with non-aggressive, timid animals. I have experience especially with shy cats. No matter the animal, I will always let them approach me first, and will not expect to just pet them all day if they are not comfortable with it. If your pet is anxious and aggressive/ highly reactive, I will not be able to take them at this time. If you are not sure about if your pet will qualify, get in touch with me and we can discuss if they are something I can handle. This is also why meet and greets are so important.
